As a graduate from the 2009 Georgian College Dental Hygiene Program with distinction, I continue my zest for learning through my work in various care settings and continuing education courses/conferences. I am an active member of various dental hygiene associations and study clubs; a firm believer in life-long learning.
My dental philosophy is that prevention of disease is the foundation to optimal oral and overall health. This has evolved around my own dental experiences as a child. I grew up in a small town in the Maritimes and had limited access to care. Fortunately, my dental experiences were pleasant; however, preventative care was not emphasized. This has propelled my commitment to providing comprehensive and preventative therapies to help patients achieve their individual needs. I strive to provide a comfortable and personalized dental experience that focuses on wellness-based care. I have a tremendous appreciation for oral health, and I am enthusiastic about sharing the innovative technologies and techniques that we have integrated in our practice to provide patients the safest and highest quality of care possible.
When I am away from my dental family, I am actively involved in the badminton and volleyball community. I coached with the Humber Hawks for over a decade and thoroughly enjoy developing and implementing sport protocols for the athletes. I love to travel and have been very fortunate to do so across Canada and internationally with the team and my family.
Embarking on a career fueled by a passion for oral health, I am a detail-oriented and driven Dental Hygienist with a solid track record in providing optimal oral care to diverse patient demographics. Graduating with high honours and achieving over 90% from the Toronto College of Dental Hygiene and Auxiliaries Inc., I have a commitment to excellence ingrained in my practice. Additionally, I hold a Bachelor of Arts Honours from Queen’s University, a testament to my well-rounded education.
One of my most esteemed accomplishments is being the sole recipient of the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award at my college, an honor bestowed upon just one hygienist in the whole graduating class. This recognition speaks to my exceptional skill and proficiency in scaling techniques, and my unwavering dedication to patient oral health. Here's to a future filled with healthy grins and happy hearts! I'm excited to be your partner in oral health, bringing a touch of cheer to every appointment. Let's keep those smiles sparkling together!
My dental journey began in high school working as a dental receptionist and having amazing dental hygiene mentors who encouraged me to pursue the career I love today. After graduating from George Brown College in 2016, I was committed to advancing my skills and knowledge and pursued further education; graduating from the restorative dental hygiene program at George Brown in 2020. Currently, I am in the process of expanding my academic horizons by pursuing an undergraduate degree in Allied Health Sciences.
Understanding that dental visits can be a source of anxiety for many, I place a strong emphasis on creating a comfortable and welcoming environment. My philosophy centers on the profound connection between oral health and overall well-being. My dedication to improving patient’s oral health and overall well-being is at the heart of my work. I strongly believe through compassionate care, patient education, and continuous professional development, we can all make a difference in the lives of those we come across.
When I’m not in the office, I like to keep an active lifestyle through different hobbies such as running, biking, basketball, or kickboxing! Maintaining a healthy social life with friends and family is also an important aspect of life. Whenever I can, I also love to travel to dive into different countries and cultures and make new memories!
